Sup fam! I'm launching my first paid product. Community List is a database of hundreds of Communities for founders and makers to promote their products. Finding the right communities takes hours and manual googling sucks.  My goal with Community List is to help people instantly find relevant communities with all the data they need in one place: • Community Categories, Member Count • Paid Communities with Pricing,  Sponsorships • Newsletters, Podcasts, Job boards, Accountability Groups and much more. I’ve launched on PH today. Would be awesome if you can show your support! 🔥 Link :  https://www.producthunt.com/posts/community-list

Interesting. I personally would have rejected the idea of building something like that with the rationale - "Nobody would be interested in buying this if I build it". Obviously my hypothesis is wrong since you managed to make a decent amount of sales within a day, So, if you don't mind me asking - How did you validate your idea?

Will tell you tomorrow, too tiered now. Just ping me if I forget

Hey dude, so I didn't validate my ideas too much since it's a 1 week product. (took 2.5 weeks though). That being said I was kicking myself for not validating and pretty much sure it would turn out to be an average product right before launch. I was unclear of who to sell it to - makers, sponsors, community builders. I had a spidey sense that it can be useful since data like this doesn't exist anywhere and is genuninely a good collection of data where people can get insights from. It was bound to be useful to someone. So decided to anyways go ahead with the launch and target makers 100% since I was launching on PH first. There are similar products that made money like this and I was fairly confident I will get some single digit sales and it exceeded my expectations. My next step is to target sponsors, people who sponsor communities since they have money. For my next product I will do these things • Define user base and have good hunches • Validate with at least a few people first
