I did not wanted to have any process as such. But I found patterns for myself before picking up the new book. Adding few points to that pattern.
1. I like to read on different genres. Not just tech but business, history, psychology.
2. So I try to read 3-4 books on different genres at one time
3. In order a pick a up book for each genres I use social media.
4. I follow highly influential and respect people in specific genres and keep checking there feed so see if they read an interesting book lately.
5. Then I watch short summary 5-8 min youtube video on the book and check goodreads and amazon review.
6. If It get my interest then I finally purchased the book.
7. If I am still not satisfied with videos and review I try to read first 5-10 pages of the book which can easily found on google books app.
8. Sometimes a book catch my eye quickly which is recommended by many people who works on different industries.
9. This method doesn't work all the time. Sometimes I order wrong book as well. Because I didn't do a research or I am not ready for that topic or the book get boring after few pages(Like self-help books).
10. But the ratio of picking up a wrong book is less. Maybe out of 10 I pickup 2 wrong books.
This turns out to a thread I should shared in the channel as well.
