Can anyone recommend organized nomad staying places in India (like https://www.remoteexplorers.com)? I am looking for a place where many people are living and working together so that it's easy to socialize. Private staying rooms are a must. On-premises food arrangements will be a plus.
@calm-grass-85557 would love a #nomad channel
c
Sure !! Can do that
Have a look at Ghoomakad, Dharamshala but I am not sure whether they offer private rooms
@billions-pizza-49429 can suggest places in Pondicherry and Goa

Yes yes, great question, haven't found any yet in India except Ghoomakad for remote folks, but mainly because very small community still! Internationally, soo many are there. Outpost bali, cambodia - highly recommended to start with for Indians

I agree with Pravin. I was able to live in Chiang Mai for 30k a month, and Koh Lanta for 50k. And I got access to better community in these places. Obviously RemoteIndian project is trying to fill this gap. But still a long way to go !!
s
Yes +1 on those 2 big hubs, I need to hit them soon!

Thanks guys, Ghoomakad looks more like a nomad meetup + training program, I am looking for stay.. Outpost looks amazing, thanks for the recommendation.
Any tips for living in an airbnb/booking.com booking and still enjoying the like-minded community? Like any particular areas to look for when booking, coworking spaces to join, etc?
s
You can stay n Ghoomakad also, they will tailor make plans for you also I think. cc @square-pizza-70402 - talk to him directly Others - just hit Top spots man - Bali , Chiang Mai, Koh lanta - cover them all by coworking/coliving spaces and meet all folks there 🙂

Surprisingly, there are no other "organised" spaces apart from Ghoomakad in India. There is bootstart in Goa but @incalculable-belgium-38461 didn't have good things to say about it. https://www.bootstart.in/colive-goa Sorry for the late reply

Awesome, thanks, guys. I will dive more into Ghoomakad and bootstart. Desperately need a change of scenery.
Well, bootstart goa looks good. Would appreciate your take on it @incalculable-belgium-38461

@rough-autumn-89795, we are building such a space in Dharamshala, near Ghoomakad itself, will be operational within a month. Please let me know whenever you plan a trip to Dharamshala.
r
awesome, will do.

Bootstart has the infra, but doesn’t have any community.
Last time I went there, it was a big fat punjabi wedding kind of scene going on. No like minded people to be seen and neither the community managers or someone to get things initiated.

I would rather say hostels provide much better access to community in Goa. And frankly, I haven’t found any proper nomad place setup yet in India.

Zostel has always been kind to me 🙂
r
Ah, well that’s sad. Had big hopes with Bootstart. But Zostel looks cool. 😄

This hostel has a co working space and a fantastic vibe (I have stayed there), http://thehostelcrowd.com/oldquarterhostel
