That is really nice. However, the $$$ he would make from consulting gigs as a result of this would easily be 5 - 10x of this. I once worked with a co-founder of AngularJS and he got paid like 2 - 3K USD just to attend meetings (per meeting) and speak with clients on behalf of the org I was working for.
