Hey folks, Do you prefer having alternate internet service provider through 4G wifi service? and How much reliable JioFi and other carriers are, in terms of speed and network?…

I have two spares(dual SIM phone :)) but I don’t need to use them a lot fortunately. Vodafone & Jio
I’ll prefer these in-phone connections over a new fixed line because it is easier. Of course, it depends on how good your primary connection is.

I pretty much use Jio and Airtel 4G hotspots when I am out of B'lore and my experience till now has been pretty good. The quality and price is pretty good for everything except video calls

Been using airtel broadband at home for >3 months now, 200mbps speed. video calls have been great

@bitter-salesclerk-57109 @purple-animal-84963 I wonder, Is there a significant difference in mobile hotspots internet quality and quality of these dedicated modem internet. If not, they are just a marketing gimmick
p
so at my parents place, they have a dedicate jiofi modem, and when I go there I use my phone hotspot an I have found no major difference as such. The only hiccup with using phone as a hotspot might be that you have to keep them plugged in. I have had similar experience with airtel portable hotspots too. I pretty much consider them dead weight

I agree.

I don’t think 4G is anywhere near broadband in India right now. I have two broadband connections at home and airtel 4G postpaid as a backup.

4G is not anywhere near if you compare the broadband in Metro or Tier 2 cities. I am doing full-time remote from a Tier 3 city, and here I feel fixed lines like Airtel are more crappier/slower than 4G services. So I manage all the work with my Airtel and Vodafone mobile hotspots, and I donot have any problem with it so far.. Sometimes during video call I have to turnoff the incoming video to avoid choppy audio.. But I can live with it (and I dont have any options )..

i use to switch between Bangalore and my native. using "TP-Link Archer MR200 Dual Band 4G Mobile Wi-Fi" from a year. speed is better then mobile hotspot.
using it with Airtel and Jio prepaid sim
