"It is time we create a movement to get well-off people to move from our over-burdened megalopolis‘ to tier-3 towns and villages in India.”
The need for a “new Vanprastha ashram” – a move to villages - While the author wrote the post for people in the twilight of their life, I feel a lot of ideas hold value for us too as remote workers. What are your thoughts?

If the town has Gigabit internet... I'm game Until then have to wait for starlink .... On an other note I have been telling my Parents (Who retired at 45) to leave the city for the exact same reason, even tho they claim otherwise, I have a feeling they like the city and maybe even feel connected to it. Uprooting your life and leaving might be quite hard, who ever you may be... Especially if you have kids who go to school and stuff.

I have an uncle who is 38 and can retire in 10 yrs. But he says it would be impossible to leave his tier-1 city and move back to village. The reason being the lifestyle, parties, amenities and other things they have become accustomed to. Moving to village will be too boring for him. I guess the “move to village” thing depends on the person.

This is an interesting topic @calm-grass-85557 I've been fighting this battle for sometime and I guess I have my bit to say. I lived in Hyderabad and Bangalore for years and now I'm in my mid-tier city Jamshedpur(internet is good here). So I do miss my social life, friends, party, meet-ups, hackathons but instead I save a fortune now and use that to do a trip every quarter and that's how I'm balancing it at the moment. And of course I get to stay with my family.

I don’t know if you know this, @calm-grass-85557 has been a resident of Jamshedpur for quite a while
