Hey... Anyone using Payoneer to collect salary from employer outside India?
j
I used it for long time. You can trust them blindly.
l
@dazzling-autumn-14365 I use it for payments via Gigster. They are pretty reliable. Have received payments outside of Gigster as well where the paying party just needs to send your Payoneer account an eCheck. They charge 2%
g
@dazzling-autumn-14365 I am using xoom subsidary of PayPal
j
Does Xoom give you firc?
g
No as I am getting salary in INR
Employer is bearing the conversion charges
Also used Pyoneer and PayPal for the same. There I am getting that
d
@jolly-room-19413 That is good to know.
@loud-glass-33663 I plan on using their Global Payment Service. SEPA transfer in EUR. Would eCheck be better?
or they are same?
l
@dazzling-autumn-14365 I am sorry - donโ€™t have an idea about that. eCheck is like you doing an NEFT transfer in India I think. From a US -> US Bank account. Global Payment System is what I think Gigster uses in which they make a bulk payment at once to Payoneer with a list of who gets how much and then Payoneer takes care of moving the funds to different folks.
I think should be very similar
d
@loud-glass-33663 Okay. So you share account details of your receiving accounts or payoneer email?
l
@dazzling-autumn-14365 Payoneer gives you a virtual bank account which I share with my client. For Gigster, they have an API integration - so I ended up clicking a button on Gigster -> Dashboard -> OAuth on Payoneer, etc.
d
@loud-glass-33663 Okay. Got it. Thanks for the help.๐Ÿ˜€
n
@rhythmic-shoe-58108 is I think
r
Yes, I receive monthly payments from there. The info Saurabh gave is what I have, let me know if you have other questions.
r
Payoneer has been working great for me. The initial setup was a pain and it requires a lot of documents but once set up it just works. Also it might error out for some clients as fraud and blocked due to high misuse of the service. So that might be a bummer at times. So could require some contacting bank from your client side and that's a pain. If you tell me the country of your client, there might be a service I could recommend. Payoneer will also give you FIRC.

@refined-psychiatrist-35519 He is in London. Service as in alternative to payoneer?
r
I had a client in London and I got some amazing rate and very fast transfer time using Azimo(not sure about FIRC). Then TransferWise was also good but my client had some trouble setting it up with them so that was abandoned. @dazzling-autumn-14365
j
Payoneer is best in ass senses, because the money can be transferred just like a bank transfer.. you get a virtual bank account in the country, with payoneer. Not sure about others.
d
@refined-psychiatrist-35519 Have you used Transferwise? My employer is asking for IBAN for sending money in transferwise and I am not sure what that is.
r
You can get the IBAN by contacting your bank
It's basically a single number combining your ifsc, swift, account number.. such that it's unique internationally.. thus IBAN - international bank account number
d
Ooh. Okay. Then I basically don't need transferwise account for me. Cool. Thanks. I'll contact my bank. ๐Ÿ˜„
@refined-psychiatrist-35519 Correct right?
r
Yep @dazzling-autumn-14365 ๐Ÿ’ฏ
