Just curious for everyone has there been layoffs in your current company?

I saw several friends and ex-colleagues getting fired or let go, or their friends/colleagues .. but not yet at my work-place.. there was aggressive hiring going on, which stopped.

Not at my place. We are hiring actually (not in the tech dept currently tho). UK / US company doing software in the pharma space.

No layoffs but unpaid slaving, yes. Company won't lay us off, won't pay us and won't let us leave and is threatening to sue who ever leaves.

I didn't know I worked for a company like this. They were always a bit unfair when they cut salaries for leaves but I didn't know how worse they could be until Covid-19 lockdowns exposed them.

Some of my friends got pay-cuts to the tune of 25%-50%.
