I am helping out a friend, can anyone share templates of sample (or actual) resume please. Unfortunately I have not updated my resume for years now. Linked in does the job for me. So I am not of much help.

@polite-secretary-64403 often, there are some neat templates that come with the product itself. Ms word, Apple Pages or Google docs - for example, have a couple of neat templates built-in. Try them as well. Of course, referring to an actual resume helps understand the level of detail you want to give in your resume.

agree @average-spoon-18165 and also agree (more) that an actual resume - it helps a person who has never looked at the market in the past few years. This friend has prepared a 8 pager resume and was not able to understand how you can reduce the text. So showing how people have achieved the same in 1 pager helps a lot.

Nobody will ever read that. I guarantee you. Not just because lack of time, but 1 or 2 page resumes have become such a norm, that the first thing people will say at 8 pages is "8 pages! What!" and they will summarily discard it.
I came across this: https://resumeworded.com/ (Many features are paid, but even the basic free features are quite good) The thing that works for me, is that I've put in a lot of "myself" in the resume. i.e. My resume screams "Swanand Pagnis" and not "Backend Engineer". I have designed it that way. If someone is only looking for a "senior backend engineer", then I just let them look for someone else. I want to retain my agency at all cost.
