Is it harder to get into a FAANG or a full time job if your resume says you've been consulting or doing remote work in your last experience?
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience in this? Sorry if this might be a silly question. I'm about to start my remote work journey but im scared of any adverse implications of this non traditional career path.

FAANGs don't care about previous experience as long as the experience is aligned. It's all about the interview.
This is true for junior to mid roles. After that, it gets more and more difficult if you don't have relatable experience.

@victorious-energy-56764 how would you quantify junior to mid roles in terms of YOE? Less than 5 years?

That depends on the actual experience, but yes -- 5-8 is mid, below that junior.
If you've worked at other bigco, then 5-8 can be senior too
