How do OG remote workers feel now that everyone is a remote worker?

Haha .. Thats a great question (BTW I am assuming OG = original? Not sure). But assuming you were asking about already remote workers, I think it is fantastic! The opportunities are going to explode for everyone - though competition is also going up. But if you are good at your craft, you should have more opportunities open up for you. The other thing ofcourse (I feel) that people who are working remotely may have a slight edge over people who weren’t (everything else being sort of similar). Also, I see a lot of “specialist” Remote Manager and similar roles open up - who have experience leading remote teams. And don’t get me started on the reduction in pollution as a result of everyone (almost everyone) going remote. 🙌

Great question 💯 I definitely see more pros than cons. Here are the things that I could quickly think of. Pros - More focus on improving the Internet infrastructure in tier-2 and tier-3 cities because of a lot of people moving back - Decentralisation of capital(skill, money). Reduce overcrowding and hopefully solve the housing problem in big cities. - Less pollution ("In the UK alone the transition to remote work would save 6.2 million metric tones of greenhouse gas annually, the equivalent of taking 2.5 million cars off the road.") - More projects coming up for folks like us - eg. https://www.homestaysofindia.com/work-from-homestay/ Cons - With great power comes great responsibility. If some folks start acting unprofessionally, then there might be a backlash. But as of now, based on whatever reports I am reading in ET, a lot of companies have found that productivity has increased after moving to WFH. - Loneliness because of lack of socialisation
