Great question 💯
I definitely see more pros than cons. Here are the things that I could quickly think of.
Pros
- More focus on improving the Internet infrastructure in tier-2 and tier-3 cities because of a lot of people moving back
- Decentralisation of capital(skill, money). Reduce overcrowding and hopefully solve the housing problem in big cities.
- Less pollution (
"In the UK alone the transition to remote work would save 6.2 million metric tones of greenhouse gas annually, the equivalent of taking 2.5 million cars off the road.")
- More projects coming up for folks like us - eg.

Cons
- With great power comes great responsibility. If some folks start acting unprofessionally, then there might be a backlash. But as of now, based on whatever reports I am reading in ET, a lot of companies have found that productivity has increased after moving to WFH.
- Loneliness because of lack of socialisation
