Anyone here has purchased, or planning to, a standing desk? I'm looking to get one and would like some help to know which ones are good and where to buy from. Cheers!

Have you already checked out the options from Ikea? If that fits your requirements, they're pretty solid. Featherlite has a few options too. Unfortunately, these doesn't fit my requirements (large L-shaped desk). So I'm considering ordering just the motorized legs from alibaba.com and bolt on my L-shaped desk. I have not found any Indian manufacturers for these yet.

I was also looking for standing desk, last year. But honestly, its pretty sad that there are no good options available in India (actually its not the case with desks only). Ikea and Featherlite as suggested above are pretty expensive imho. I also suggest buying motorized legs/base, and then install the top based on your requirements. You can build it that way in half of the price.

Alternate diy option: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07F58N3B1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_64ttFbPD90QJ4 With a screwed plyboard Keep you monitors, kbs, mouse on top. Not exactly a desk per se. But I stopped looking (same sitn as you) and installed this. Works like a charm under wall mounted tv with hmdi extender as well

there is an Austrian company, which manufactures cardboard standing desk - https://www.simpli-stand.com/ Really like the idea, maybe someday we also can use it

https://www.purpleark.in/ - Gurgaon based company that specializes in standing desks

I just looked at purpleark and requested a quote for just the motorized legs. From a quick look at the brochures, they seem to importing the same motorized legs from China that I'm looking at on alibaba.com. I can get it direct at half the price.

Damn, so they are just dropshipping?
h
No, I think they probably mass import to get better prices and lower customs costs and then sell locally.

Thanks for the recommendation guys.
@helpful-gigabyte-47939 I agree, not too many options available here to get from.
Have looked at Ikea and featherlite and it doesn't quite fit the desk size I need
I'm thinking of getting a frame and build a custom top board. Seems like a far better option than getting a pre-built one.
I imagine it would be cheaper than getting a pre-built one
@early-ice-96889 had thought of it before but a fixed attachment makes it harder to move around and I'm looking for something which is convenient to move around.
Alibaba seems to be a great option but don't even know if it would ever clear customs anytime soon 😆

Yup. That's true. You are fixing stuff to a wall.
