Several people have asked me about the "growing my own food" bit in my profile. Thought I'd share this "Grow Along" for others who might be interested in learning and are looking for a more guided (and paid) introduction to growing food. I started out as a black-thumb and muddled my way through learning most things over the last 5 years. But I've attended some of Yogita and Karan's online seminars earlier this year and they're really good at walking people through the basics. No affiliation with them. Just a happy customer passing along information for others interested in farming. I order seeds from them too at reasonable prices.

Thank you, Amit for sharing this 👍 I am curious if you have seen the movie "Biggest Little Farm". I saw it 2 days back and I found it to be wholesome and educational. Here's the trailer (if you haven't seen) 👉

Thank you so much, @helpful-gigabyte-47939 for sharing this. I first got the idea from this guy, who goes by the name 'micro greens farming'. I have been excited about this space for a while, but was never in the right place to take this up. I am now in my hometown and this gives me hope.

@calm-grass-85557 Looks like an interesting movie with a premise that lots of us have on our minds now that broadband is kinda available outside big cities. I've added it my watchlist. Thanks. The holistic farming that they talk about in the trailer is what is referred to as Permaculture. It is a fascinating subject that talks about moving from monoculture of agriculture (over 90% of Indian farms, unfortunately, due to misdirected subsidies) to a more diverse plantation, so that one pest or bad weather don't ruin your entire season and it also improves soil w/o the chemical fertilizers.

@hundreds-winter-88791 is this real? They are doing this on 30 acre, doing hydroponics setup on such a big patch of land without any experience seems far fetched. Another thing though if they were like super ich already and can bu such big patch as well as hire consultants to set everything up

@quaint-alligator-11014 I'm guessing that in a lot of cases, they just provide the technology and convince farmers to convert their existing farms with this infrastructure. So 30 acres might not be "owned" by them.
