Has anyone tried getting their less-technically-savvy family members to use a password manager (1password family plan etc)? How did it turn out? Please reply in thread.

Good question. I am interested in this as well. The goal is to get my dad (who knows his way around email and Office) to use this — but I shudder to think to even attempt this. (I use LastPass and have a family account).

I tried this, they forgot master password thrice, abandoned now. They use it relatively rarely, that might have contributed as well.

I tried to introduce keepass to my mother when I visited home. Big mistake! After painstakingly showing her how to use it and saving some passwords, she pretty much forgot to use it after I left home, and then forgot the password to the key file as well! In hindsight I should have realized that it was too technical for her. Am planning to introduce LastPass when I visit home this January. Hopefully it'll be a much smoother experience.

I was thinking about this as well, but I feel even my non-coder brother will have problems (or not find it worth) using a password manager. So parents using a password manager is impossible scenario. We just store their passwords in a Google doc.
