Has anyone placed an order for Starlink? Especially folks in remote locations. Why/Why not?

Is it even available in India?

I doubt it would be given the hindrances the Indian govt puts on personal satellite communication devices.

AFAIK, starlink is another year away from launching in India. A few folks I know have ordered it in States and Germany. Around 100 MBPS download speed. It works well. The satellite constilation is not yet optimised to work everywhere on the globe yet. Its bound to change in near future

i recall TRAI hasnt cleared this yet.. still a work-in-progress to allow satellite broadband. but it’ll happen, airtel will lobby hard to get it done.

Not coming to India at anytime just like Tesla.

I thought of purchasing this, but it shows expected availability in India is 2022, again I’m not sure about even 2022 also considering the TRAI one-sided regulations.

Not in remote location, but still ordered out of enthusiasm.. then came to know cost of device could be ~$500, which is too expensive tbh. anyways, the amount is refundable, so wouldn't hurt to cancel if prices are same when it launches in india.
