Who’s into VR? What do you have? Worth it? Looking at the Quest, but hearing rumours that a update is coming this year.

The games and add on packs become pretty expensive though

As of an update, looks like Facebook will launch more frequent hardware updates as they have confirmed that they are working on Quest 3 and 4. But I don’t think an upgrade will be launched in the next 6-8 months as the Quest 2 isn’t that old yet

Hi <@UNWT43HGR> I am considering getting the Quest 2 from the US. Wanted to know a few things:
• How are the standalone games as my laptop's 1650 isnt good enough for PCVR, I am more interested in the standalone games.
• Is the LCD screen quality very bad?
• Do you know of any local shops to get it repaired in India if anything goes bad?

I play only the standalone games as I don’t have a powerful enough GPU, and I don’t want any dangling cables and I am not very tolerant to the input latency over wireless. I must say, I am very impressed by the performance. The graphics obviously won’t match a beefed up PCVR setup, but the standalone is a very pleasant experience in itself

IMO the higher resolution and refresh rate outshine the benefits of OLED

This is the biggest problem as facebook doesn’t provide service in India. I think the only option is to send your unit to someone in a serviceable country, get it repaired and shipped back; but this is borderline impractical. I don’t think any local shops can repair it as it’s a fairly complex device

I’d also like to add that if you get the headset, KEEP AWAY THE LENS FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT. People tend to ignore this warning, but VR lens is sunlight act as a magnifying glass that can permanently burn your screen
