Any recommendations for a smart desk lamp? The lighting around my computer desk is very poor. Could use something that can be controlled via alexa/google home

If you are planning to use at your desk, I think the light from top would be better (#2). I personally don't like light hitting eyes directly. You can also buy a regular desk lamp and use a smart bulb with it, so it's cheaper to replace in case the bulb fails.

@faint-energy-11966 I’ve bought it wayback when it was being sold via crowdfunding - https://store.mi.com/in/crowdfunding/detail?id=39 it was more of an impulse buy to play with it. These days I’m mostly using this lamp as a bed bulb. The other lamp you’ve posted is looking much better for a desk, if you want focused light.
