🤔 Are there any rumored launch dates for the next version of Mac Mini ( with M2 chip ) PS - Has anyone here bought the Mac M1 Mini? How has your experience been like??

I bought it. it's been good so far. but my suggestion is to go with 16GB RAM.

If you can wait, it's better to avoid the First generation of products. They will most definitely have bugs which will be sorted out by the 2nd Gen. Even if the performance difference won't be as big as Intel vs M1, M2 will be better than M1. If you are buying one, definitely go for 16GB RAM as there were some issues reported with excessive SWAP usage degrading SSD life. 8GB will increase this issue more.

@damp-memory-53739 I have an ext monitor. So wanted to get the max config within my budget. And when I am traveling, I can use my old MBP.

Wouldn't a new M1 Pro/Air be much better while travelling though? I've been working from morning and still have 20% battery left.

@calm-grass-85557 If your setup is going to be stationary, and if macOS isn’t a strict requirement, you can get away building a PC for cheap. 🤔

I have been using both macOS and Linux for past several years, Linux is just superior. 😛

Oh for designers, definitely! the availability of Sketch only on macOS makes it an upsell. Btw Linux has one tool in development to provide something similar https://github.com/akiraux/Akira

I'd given up on sketch 2 years back. Have only been using figma. Runs completely on the browser.
