I would recommend starting from here especially this excellent article on How Google Search works and resort to Google’s YT channel if you like video format instead of text. They have a weekly qa session where you can ask any level of questions. SEO Signals community in Facebook is very welcoming and features many case studies and memes. Also some accounts on Twitter such as @onCrawl @sejournal @Charles_SEO @victorpan @SamUnderwoodUK @screamingfrog @aleyda @semrush The person you must worship in order to get rankings is the one and the only @JohnMu. His twitter threads are gems. @rustybrick breathes seo. He is the first to expose any algo changes before even google confirms it. He is known for his skills in signalling any seo updates. He runs a seroundtable blog which is must subscribe for anyone interested in SEO. If you are a reddit person, r/SEO r/TechSEO and r/bigseo contains loads of gems. If you just scroll through the past posts, you are in a good shape. Ahrefs and Neil Patel’s YT channels + blogs are great while starting out. For practical tips, i like Ruan Marinho’s channel. But the more you learn about SEO, the more you will feel Neil Patel is complete BS. His advices are pretty solid while starting out. But his recent comments got harshly criticised. Backlinko guy is excellent in listing out the dos and donts. His YT channel and blog are worth spending time on when you get the basics. For Indian specific community, The SEO Cartel by Rankz is great though the convos have been bit inactive recently. It’s run by the awesome @suumitshah, that Dukaan guy. Finally, if you feel like you are loosing confidence while in between, try resorting to Chase Reiner’s YT channel and chill little bit. Try working on real world projects and get comfortable. These resources along with GSC + Analytics + Keywords Planner + Sheet + Screaming Frog(not mandatory) is what you need at the most while starting out. And all of them are free. The more you advance, the more tools you would. There are lot more resources which might be better than i suggested. But these are the ones i know with my very limited seo knowledge.
