Will it be fine if I keep my macbook pro perpetually into charging? I've seen a lot of folks doing this, anyone has a personal experience?

Starting with Big Sur, macOS intelligently protects your mac from over-charging based on your usage. So you can leave it plugged. šŸ™‚

I've been using Docks/Powered Monitors for almost 4 years now. Haven't had any major issues so far.

Also, any laptop battery may not age fast as much with overcharging as it does with heat itself; a) due to higher workload making CPU to stay at peak all the time b) ambient room temperature itself. I had my MBP 2017's battery puffed to a point that it was pushing itself against logicboard, I had to replace the battery eventually. You can check your battery charge cycles and charge capacity to see how much it has aged over time.

This is the advice from a well known apple certified technician i personally met TL;DR - Please don’t do it. It’s a myth that ā€œonce it’s fully charged it will automatically not charge furtherā€

Minor issue which I faced was (although introduced by my own mistake): Remember to enable close display after X mins when on charging (I had it disabled). This caused screen issue in my mac like frozen/ghost screen and so on, after 4-5 months of continuous usage. (plugged in as desktop)

@adorable-cat-7948 what's close display?

This one.. Try to keep it on the lower side based on your usage. Plus, occasional restarts would be useful. I left it running for 2 months in one stretch, which was probably too much for it. šŸ˜… (2017 Macbook Pro)

Even the Macbook vendor for our office suggest the same, it is better to keep charger plugged in while using even if laptops is fully charged, and unplug when not in use, Have been following this for past 3 years no issue faced yet.
