Hi everyone. So, I'm planning to by an M1 macbook but I'm confused between the air and pro. I know air is the same in performance as the pro but the air (ironically) doesn't have fans to manage thermals. My usecase is mostly GameDev and streaming those GameDev sessions. I have a couple years old pro for coding but it struggles with streaming the coding sessions. PS. I also want to connect a capture card to stream games from a console. But I suppose if it can stream GameDev coding sessions, it can easily manage video from capture card and streaming it. Am I right in assuming that? Should I buy a pro for managing thermals or an air with a stand that has fans? What are your opinions?

Ambient temperatures in India are high — unless you sit in an AC room all day, I would recommend buying the Macbook Pro with fans

The pro also has slightly better Graphics. So might be more useful for you.

I have tried both & there’s not much of a practical difference if you get the 16g version. I would say go for the Air!

If you know what you're getting into, or just need it because your game is iOS only, ignore this comment. Game dev on Mac is not the best experience. And you'll need fans.
