Meanwhile Microsoft - No! Your 3 year old perfectly capable laptop cannot run Windows 11 because it doesn't have TPM 2.0 https://www.theverge.com/2021/7/1/22558999/microsoft-windows-11-windows-phone-port-developer-engineer

with the cameras failing to function, a hit to battery life, and calls / SMS occasionally breaking due to Microsoft’s OS changes.
far from 'running'

Also, Microsoft has been trying to retire IE11 for years now, and we all know how it went. So pretty sure they'll support Windows 11 on older devices (may be with certain features unavailable when running without TPM).

You actually only need TPM 1.2 and most of the laptops in last 7-8 yrs have it. If it’s not enabled you’d have to enable it from system BIOS.

@thousands-morning-63911 Nope. They changed it to TPM 2.0 later
t
Seems like they changed it later on
*Correction, 8:06PM ET:* This story originally stated Windows 11 would likely still install on PCs with access to TPM 1.2 and older CPUs, because that's what we read in Microsoft's documentation. Microsoft has now corrected those documents to specify TPM 2.0 is a minimum requirement for Windows 11.
