Has anyone run into Apple iCloud Storage full error on iOS device even when there’s clearly sufficient storage available? I’m seeing that error on Photos app in my iPad since past couple of weeks.

Is the 5GB across devices or for IPad alone?

Just the iPad and MacBook Pro but as shown in screenshot above, total storage in use is 1.6GB only.

5GB is total iCloud space you get in the free account.

I know that but if I have 3.8 GB still available, and don’t have anything being attempted to sync with iCloud (which could potentially exceed 3.8 GB remaining space), then I shouldn’t be seeing the out of storage error, right?

Not unless the system is attempting to upload some data file which will cross 5GB limit.

Yup, and I don’t have anything being attempted to sync which would exceed that. So either it’s a bug or just a poor design to communicate what’s happening with the size.

When my mom faced a similar problem, it was whatsapp trying to sync 3GB+ of backup to iCloud. I faced a similar issue with Procreate.

For now I have disabled Photos from syncing as that seems to be complaining. And I don’t have anything else apart from iPad which could take up space.
