I have a private limited company with GST (that I intended to use for my startup but didn't), I have been filing taxes properly but it has zero business activity going on. Now, I am looking forward to buy MacBook Pro, so will I get 18% GST refund on my purchase if the payment is made from the company name and account?

If you provide your GST number during purchase then yes

Can you explain the process? @limited-animal-95702

apple.com website does not provide GST input for items purchased. If you are buying from a seller, ask them if they give out a GST invoice and if you can claim input. once you do that the amount usually reflects in your GST account after the seller have filed a GST-1. (some sellers say they support GST, but are Composition Dealer - you dont get input from them) GST returns (3B) to claim input have to be filed every 1 month or 3 months based on your turnover. talk to your CA for details.
input can be used only when you are providing services/selling goods within India. Private Limited has a lot of paperwork usually (as told by my CA and suggested to avoid it). you have to file a lot of forms etc., every year

missed new messages on this thread earlier but for me its been as simple as just mentioning that I want gst invoice and providing the seller my company's gst number, the gst filing etc is handled by my CA and I can see the gst input in the gst portal whenever I check it every once in a while

Thanks for all the responses, I talked to my CA and he said that as there are no GST invoices that come, there is nothing to settle against and thus I went ahead and purchased it from my personal account.
