youraccount+<random_text>@gmail.com

and it’ll land in your inbox. I used to use this on new services to detect who’s spamming me. So for example,

<mailto:electron+reddit@gmail.com|electron+reddit@gmail.com>

when I sign up on reddit.com

You can also use a dot in the email.

Services have caught up to the + thingy, they will clean the emails before selling them

I mean I wouldn’t use my proper email to register with anything. I have 1 personal, and dozens of just spam (each with their threshold of shady websites allowed to register) of email accounts. Also, if you’re on apple ecosystem, you can just use hide my email service by apple and it’ll generate unique random emails for each website that all forward to your email. It’s really sweet.
