Hey #random Follow up on above question. How is your social life since you are working remotely? I guess it has been different past 2 years because of Corona. But how do you meet new people? Meetups?

Yeah. I have the same question. Apart from RI Bangalore meetups I don't have any avenues for socialisation. All my friends are in a different city so cannot meet up with them either 😛

"We don't." On a serious note, Meetup group meets was a great place to meet new people.

I met the most number of new people in last two years at a friend's wedding recently. Changing companies might help too 😛

^^ Wedding* It's best to meet people who have similar interests/goals. You can cold DM people just to introduce (or) connect with people around a problem you are looking to solve. Friends of friends/RI and other communities are a great start. Add in few non-problem related questions to your discussions to get to know other person. You might hit it off with a few.

The Intro Buddy bot from Remote India comes up with great suggestions. I've gone on calls with around 8 new people in the last 2 months. It's been awesome. For friends, I mostly use an alt twitter and hang around on Discord.
