Those who have got the new macbook pro 14 with the notch, how's the battery life? I still get ~15 hours on my year old pro 13, wondering if it makes sense to upgrade.

Battery life is insanely good, also, fans never spin up as temperature never exceeds beyond 50 C even with heavy work load (GitLab dev server runs a lot of things). Of course true thermal performance will get measured in Summer.

Is your Pro 13 running on M1? If so, it might not be that big of an upgrade. I switched from a 2017 MBP 15-inch to a 14-inch M1 Pro (base with 8c). My old laptop barely held up for 2 hours on battery. It had a brand new battery as I had to get the top-case changed in Q1 2021 due to keyboard issues. My new laptop powers through an entire work day. I might need to plug it in towards the end of the day if I've been on a few video calls during the day. So, for me, the battery lasts at least 3x longer on my 14-inch M1 Pro than it did on my 15-inch Intel with the same things running.

Yeah I have the M1. Battery isn't as good as the M1, just did some research. Anyway don't need that much power.
