Hi guys! Is there any app that helps you with remembering the deadlines on various tasks at work? I've problem organizing things and I need something that can work as a reminder. Is there any?

Along with google tasks, I've found google calendar reminders to work well too. Especially since it keeps stuff confined to single space. I don't like the fragmentation caused by using multiple third-party apps for work. My meetings are in calendar on my work email already, why not keep the deadline reminders in the same app? Has cross-platform support as well. Calendar also allows you to keep reminders private so they're not visible when people look through your calendar to book meetings. I also use Slack reminders this way. If I need to tend to a message later, add a reminder right inside slack. I guess my aim is to extract most value from existing apps. Also, these are apps I use daily, so no need to habituate myself to a new app.

@strong-pilot-68346 never tried todoist. Will check that one too. Thanks
@witty-answer-12530 oh interesting. Surely, I'll check slack as well. I do have meetings on calendar in Google. But never thought of using it to maintain my own deadlines.

There's a school of thought that says to use calendars instead of to-do lists. I never explored it in detail, but I feel it's much more streamlined than a arbitrary list of things I must get through at some point in the day/week. If I have to buy something, I set a reminder at a fixed time and tend to it immediately when reminder pops up. It's something I picked up from my manager 😅

@witty-answer-12530 that sounds interesting. With my method, I use pen and paper to list down the very high, high and low priority tasks everyday for work, home and other general stuff. This helps me take a look at a physical copy of paper. Also, it helps you in a way where you open your mobile to take a look at the list and find yourself scrolling through IG endlessly. 😄

I have been using Notion for all my tasks/reminders. Built a system following August Bradley’s Life Operating System and it has been serving me pretty well. The problems about other apps is the rigidity they have in using them. Notion gives you building blocks to build anything on top of it (think of it like Legos). The best part of doing it in Notion is that you don’t need diverse set of apps to manage your life, it all can line in one place to give you a single pane of window.
