Has anybody learned Japanese successfully? Need recommendations for resources.
m
On the journey! I started out learning Katakana and Hiragana here: https://www.tofugu.com/japanese/learn-hiragana/ Then started learning Kanji using: https://www.wanikani.com/ After doing this for a couple of months, I joined a personal tutor which I believe was the best thing to do. My Japanese learning stalled a bit in the last 6 months. Hoping to get back to it soon.
Hope this helps ^

Thanks will check them out. I am looking for offline sources because it's hard to concentrate on the computer.

I have been using duolingo. It’s quite nice. Learnt both hiragana and katakana there. After that, my kanji hasn’t been good. I’m just learning the words to build my vocabulary. I love the stories feature in there. My strategy is to learn as many words as possible. Recently, I have started to pick up sentences when people talk or in media. Following this guy’s strategy:

If you want to pass Japanese language test then apps like doulingo will not be very helpful, I prefer learning from book so learnt N5 & N4 level from "Minna no nihongo" book. It is very well structured book for beginners. I would suggest you go with books like these. For kanji though you will need an app to practice daily you can use "Kanji Tree" app for that.

Can you link the book @gifted-computer-83734? I downloaded a couple of pdfs and printed them out for this too. Didn't buy a book yet. Need to get serious now

Even I didn't buy these books as it wasn't available online in India at that time. I too took printout of the pdfs. But now it is available on Amazon/Flipkart. You can buy from there.
