Hi everyone, I was thinking of getting a good medical insurance. I'm looking for something that: 1. Covers hospital expenses + treatment costs for serious illnesses. 2. Coverage for modern medicine & tech only, no AYUSH. The 2nd point has been my single biggest gripe with insurances. Most that i come across have a combo of regular hospitals + AYUSH facilities which I don't prefer. Even if I need to pay a higher premium, I'd rather they be utilised to cover costs in the best hospitals only, & not for alternative treatments to be included in the plan. Curious to know what kind of premiums folks here have & what do your plans cover (or if it's even worth having one).

No insurer can force you to seek treatment at Ayush facility. It is your call. Limits can exist for pre-conditions, room rent, exclusions etc which are what you need to optimize your purchase decision for. So Ayush in the policy is technically not a negative for you and insurer uses it to attract more people.
