Anyone using/used ghost.org for their personal websites here. Would love to know experience of running a mostly static site with a couple of posts each month.

Used couple of years back and stopped since I am not blogging at all. Managed hosting is costly for ghost and we can self host for 5 dollars a month if you want. In recent versions of ghost it is mainly focusing on membership and stuff so not for everybody's liking. Since your saying static site, may as well go with static site generators if possible and plenty of services provide free hosting for that.

I have been happily hosting my personal site (bilalbudhani.com) on Ghost and so far I have never faced any issues. I’m not a fan on JAMStack, I personally love having a UI to manage my site.

I'm using it for sankalp0o.com, it's been quite alright. I do think it is expensive for my simple use cases. But not having to deal with code, the simple UI, decent out of the box configurations make it easy to hit the publish button more often.

We use Netlify CMS with Next Js (or React Static) for our company sites: • Posts are in markdown format • Netlify CMS gives a UI to edit (with a draft workflow) • Has been live for many years • SEO friendly (with image optimizations) • Can have multiple authors • Good enough for 100s of post per year • Blazing fast 🔥 You can check it out at: https://github.com/krimlabs/krimlabs.com The only downside is that the CMS UX is not crisp.
