For any topic, just start discussion threads in #random or #tribe (no need to ask permission or ask "Can i ask here?". just go ahead and ask/share. šŸ™‚) If there's a lot of participation / it gets too noisy, one can then create dedicated channels anyway šŸ‘šŸ¼

most relationships = honeymoon phase (x months to x years > i like being around this person > start noticing their faults > start getting annoyed by faults > ??? the choice is yours).

Karthik has a point. Relationships is a personal topic.. not sure talking about it in broad channels would yield any good discussions.. a dedicated channel might make sense for people who want to discuss it w/o judgments. nomadlist has such a similar channel and it's quite wholesome and welcoming

Don't turn this slack into reddit please šŸ˜‚

I feel awkward to talk about relationships in broad channel. I don't want to disturb who are not interested. If we have a separate channel, people can mute it as per their wish.
c
OK. Then go ahead create a channel (say relationships). Set the channel's description/topic accordingly. Announce it in random (or let Avi know to announce it in #announcements). and start sharing your questions/comments in the new channel
I don't want to disturb who are not interested.
Based on my experience with multiple Slack workspaces. This is unavoidable. šŸ˜… Existing users will not know to join a new channel unless • they are informed (or "disturbed" as you put it šŸ™‚) about it a couple of times • and they can see some relevant content/discussions. So after creating a channel, if one does NOT see much traction, be prepared to cross-post links to any Qs / comments from the new channel to existing related channels to get potentially interested folks to join. šŸ‘šŸ¼

Got it
How can I create a new channel? I don't see any options.

Good catch. šŸ™‚ Looks like there might be configuration to be done in this particular workspace. i asked *Avi *(the only Slack admin of this workspace that i know).
