Anyone here take Magnesium supplements for better sleep? Curious to know which brand you take
m
Unived.
l
Do the supplements help?
m
Not sure. It's not supposed to help you fall asleep, it's for better recovery when you're asleep (hence better quality of sleep). So I do take it at night post dinner. I take it because I'm a triathlete, so any help to improve y recovery on a daily basis is useful to me since I'm putting a lot of stress on my body almost everyday. I haven't noticed anything game changing after starting with Mg though, the effect might be very small. But as I said, even small margins are useful for me.

Dont take medicines to induce sleep until you figure out why you're unable to sleep, if you have not done that already.

Melatonin works for quite well for me but I try to limit it's usage as much as possible.

Please consult a doctor for taking any meds for sleep
b
Will consult, but just curious about these things.

Melatonin is not really a sleep inducer. It helps reset sleep cycle if you're not getting enough sun and/or your sleep cycles are not in place. People usually take it after traveling from one country to another to fix jet lag etc.
