Hi Programmers, Does having an external mouse for Macbooks make difference?
Thinking of buying something like this

It did for me. I use Miro a lot and in general a mouse helps me organize better. Might sound weird, but I like using a mouse (or the terminal) to create files, folders and organize them. The trackpad for some reason is inconvenient. I have a MX3 and absolutely love it.

Get a mouse, been using the macbook trackpad since 2017 and my index finger started getting some nerve irritation due to excessive use. (I'm a designer so use the trackpad more than the keyboard on a good day). šŸ˜… I use the same mouse you're looking at, worth it if you manage to get it for less than 7k.

MX Master 2S goes for cheaper and doesn't miss out on any noticeable features except for the MicroUSB port downgrade.

I have the M720 triathlon which I feel is better for programmers than Master series. • It's easier to switch between devices since I don't have to flip it. Ignore if that's not an issue for you. • MX masters are slightly bigger so they are more comfy to hold for longer but harder to do gestures with. As a programmer, your use case would involve short bursts of usage with more time on keyboard. • The horizontal scroll wheel on MX master series isn't good for precise control on page by page movement. And it's slightly awkwardly positioned for thumb. Horizontal scroll in M720 is single step with the mouse wheel itself. In both though, the side buttons feel too high and put thumb in an awkward position. I'd love to see other designs where the buttons are closer to the natural resting position of thumb or lower. PS: if you have only 1 device and it's mac you'd probably have a much better time with the magic mouse. Do check it's reviews out as well.
