@Jason St-Cyr - any update on this given we're 2 months on? github.com/puppetlabs/puppetlabs-java/pull/628
j
The upcoming release of PE and Puppet Core should have Ubuntu 26.04 support in it. That said... This PR looks like an acceptance test PR and not the actual changes. I tried going back to the original PR but it seems to have been closed. I tried re-running acceptance tests to see if it would pull up the 26.04 infrastructure, but it looks like the spec tests are failing on that branch because of missing bump in stdlib. Any chance you could re-open the PR, update the branch? I can then try to kick off a new acceptance test PR and see if we can get the 26.04 tests to run.
t
The changes are all in that PR so I closed mine off.
j
Ah, yes, in order to get acceptance tests running the engineering team needs to open their own draft PRs on a branch (instead of a fork) so that the acceptance tests can get the secrets needed to run. It's only used to provide feedback to the original PR. We should definitely treat your PR as the 'true source' of the change, and anything Perforce spins up as temporary test runners.
t
I'm happy for them to carry on with their PR. I won't be updating mine.
j
No worries, I've updated the other PR and tried running acceptance there. Looks like the Ubuntu 26 is still not available for provisioning in the module tests. Everything passed testing, but it didn't run against Ubuntu 26.04. I need to chase down when that infra will be available for our testing.

Just following back on this earlier thread... Ubuntu 26.04 infra is available now, PR got tested, and got merged up.

Thank you but it was merged 2 weeks ago and still no release?

The team tends to try to build up a few changes for a module and then do a release. It looks like the last release was at the end of August, so from a calendar perspective we're due in October to put something out. I just checked the pending releases, and it looks like java is near the top right now (Tier 1 module with 3 pending changes). I don't have a specific date to give you, but I'll chat with the engineering team and see if I can find out when the next release might be.
I checked with the engineering team and it looks like they were planning the release to be this month, with a target of late this week or early next week.
@Trevor Rea: Looks like one release went out on Friday with the Ubuntu support, and then another went out today with an update on the version of puppet/archive. Should be available for you now!
