Some of you already followed along with the above chat around stdlib 10, I've now posted up on puppet.com and dev.to/puppet to share about the upcoming major release: • https://www.puppet.com/blog/puppetlabs-stdlib-10 • https://dev.to/puppet/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-puppetlabs-stdlib-10-in-june-2026-1jah

Any chance for a 10.0.2 release with the fix for
stdlib::manage
?
j
Can you point me to the PR that you're looking at for this fix?

Thanks Pat, I'm not sure when the next stdlib patch release is going out to include this. We have some other work ahead of us in terms of getting some other modules out the door, but this fix will be included when we next have an stdlib release.
p
With part of the module broken, I'm hopeful for a release soon
Any news on a release with the fix?
j
As far as I know, we don't have an imminent
stdlib
release planned as there are other modules getting looked at right now. There is some work on stdlib to prep it for the upcoming Puppet Core 9 and PE 2026 release, but I'm not sure if that will be a major or minor right now. It will depend on what changes are required to get it working with Puppet 9.
p
With a piece of stdlib currently broken, I'd like to push a bit on getting the fix released
j
Right now the team that would handle it has their hands full with all the modules that need upgrades for the new version coming out. When that release goes out, it should contain this fix, but if it looks like a major release would be required then I'll push for us to do a minor release with this fix first.
p
In theory it should just be a bugfix release. Right now the bug is preventing me from updating my repo to stdlib 10
j
@Pat Riehecky: 10.0.2 is now out with that patch fix. The engineering team determined that the other work they were planning for the next was too large to hold this up.
