Is there a way with PE 2025.10 to have a Puppet agent at 8.19.0 instead of 8.17?   My CD4PE node has that Agent  version and I am trying to figure out how.  4

I am basing this on the aio_agent_version fact.

There are a few possible explanations:
1. *The `puppet_agent` module’s `package_version` parameter* may be set to `8.19.0` for that node (or its node group), causing it to upgrade beyond the PE-bundled version.
2. *Someone manually installed or upgraded the agent* on the CD4PE host directly (e.g., via `yum`/`apt`).


there is no Pe version currently released using that puppet version

1. pe_repo agent_version parameter → PE Console → Node Groups → PE Masters → pe_repo::platform::&lt;platform&gt; → agent_version

2. puppet_agent module package_version parameter → Hiera data or node classification for the CD4PE node

3. Manually installed packages → Run: puppet --version → Compare with: yum info puppet-agent / apt show puppet-agent on the CD4PE node

4. Compiler package symlink → Check: /opt/puppetlabs/server/data/packages/public/ → look at the “current” symlink

you may want to check if an external puppet repo, ie not the Puppet enterprise one is in use on the cd4pe node, as it may be pulling latest from there
