We decided to deprecated it because some content was already updated in the main puppet docs, for example the control-repo one and Patterns-and-tactics was created with the intention to help Puppet practitioners to navigate topics around Reference Architectures for Puppet Enterprise (PE), performance, and integration topics

@edwin hmm, i've checked it (https://www.puppet.com/docs/patterns-and-tactics/latest/patterns-and-tactics.html) Seems like it no even close to https://github.com/puppetlabs/best-practices https://github.com/puppetlabs/best-practices provides a lot of useful information which could be applicable to Open Source version of Puppet server. Also GitHub repo has much more pages. On the other hand https://www.puppet.com/docs/patterns-and-tactics/latest/patterns-and-tactics.html has only a few pages and all of them focusing on Puppet Enterprise. So it's really not equal replacement (in my opinion)
