You can use a PQL query to check for content of the catalog or fact values. But you must know, what you are looking for. regexp are not possible AFAIK

Thanks. Thats not quite what I am after though.
I am looking to classify some machines or even find machines in the status window of PE console which have a particular element in an array fact.
Essentially from what I can understand, the PE console would need to have an
in
operator which currently it doesn't

Where is the array located? in puppet dsl code or in a fact?
Ah. fact. I found it
You are right. there is no β€˜in’ matcher. But: you can specify the fact array using index numbers to check for content. but that requires you to either specify multiple indexes or you must know in which index the value is located. (in pe console:
array_fact[0] = 'value'
)

Thanks @tuxmea, Yeah unfortunately this array element could be at any index so its not a viable option. leveraging an
in
search would be best. 😞
