Hi everyone 👋 I am CTO at Travis https://travistravis.co - Travis makes travel planning visual, social and collaborative. If you are not travelling at the moment, you can still exchange travel memories with friends, discover local guides from others and save what you like into visual moodboards. When the time comes, you’ll be able to use your moodboards as a collaborative place to plan your next trip or weekend away 🧳. Here’s an example of user-created travel guide you can find on our platform: travistrav.is/s/iWysASR6fqHrnnHQUymP Travis is built using prisma rainbow Prisma as database layer (running serverless with AWS AppSync / Lambda / Aurora Serverless). In fact, I will soon open-source a custom Prisma generator designed to work with AWS AppSync 🤯. We are still early stage, but we’ve already launched in private BETA in Australia 🦘 end of last year and we are planning to expand in other regions of the world, as soon as the global situation allows for it. So, if you are interested in the concept, please signup on https://travistravis.co and we’ll invite you into our Beta in a few weeks! Thanks for any feedback and comments.

Great job!
I know that in a MVP speed optimizations are a bit overkill, but when serving a story you are: 1. Serving an empty HTML 2. The browser has to download + parse + execute the JS of your app 3. Query graphql 4. Then paint the story Takes up to 12 seconds to load in pagespeed. The best approach is to do SSR and some kind cache. If you want a quick win add a loader to the empty HTML to give the user some feedback while loading.

Hey @Rafael, thanks for your feedback! Performance improvements and accessibility are definitely part of our roadmap. We just need to tackle a few more of the core features before we can spent time on this. May I ask where you are located in the world?

In Spain, just the opposite side of the world 😄 But you are using AWS and checked that cloudfront is serving me the nearest edge of their infrastructure, so network latency is not a problem.
BTW, how are you going to monetize your project? All the project looks really neat, but I cannot find any information about plans or princing.

At this stage, we are still experimenting with a few different models. For the end-user, we are moving towards a Freemium model. We might introduce a premium plan later on for more advanced features but the core of our platform will always be free for the travellers. Hence why we are not mentioning any pricing at the moment. Most of our revenue will probably come from businesses (booking fees, travel content creators market place, travel designer service, access to market insights and more advanced tools for tourism).
