Anyone incurred trouble getting yarn to work inside docker containers? I cloned into this graphcool project (https://github.com/graphcool-examples/react-relay-instagram-example) and ran 'yarn install' which reported:

@dk0r is there a
node_modules
folder/`yarn.lock` file in this directory?
d
yep

well, then it's being installed locally. Did you try to enter your GraphQL endpoint and run the app by doing
yarn start
?
d
no, I haven't bothered proceeding because I don't know where the projects dep's are
I'll try tho
n
it looks like the dependencies have already been installed 🙂
you can also do
rm -rf node_modules && yarn
to install the dependencies again and make sure 😛
d
right --this is a brand new ubuntu+node base image
I have zero npm packages installed aside from yarn
n
can you do
ls node_modules
?
n
all those folders are npm packages that have been installed
d
yeah
I didn't realize they were pulled in w/ the clone
ty
n
they have not
no
node_modules
here
d
wow
yarn is this fast?!
n
no
d
i just deleted the proj and recloned it
and you're right
n
it's fast, but not 0.34 s fast 😄
d
there's no node_modules dir
n
before the screenshot you sent, you probably already ran
yarn
d
I guess I'm still confused how all those packages are getting installed so quick
yeah, 'yarn install'
n
right! 🙂
d
here's a fresh clone w/ no 'node_modules'

not only fast, but there no confirmation of what was installed so I assumed it didn't do anything
thanks man
n
ahh, I see
d
really surprised how quick yarn is tho
impressive
npm is a dog
