I’d also appreciate some sparring on how (and if) this could be “hidden” behind the Graph.cool schema with pre-hooks

Thanks <@U0RQY0KK5> - ended up trying <http://DarkSky.net|DarkSky.net> - seems to work great so far, and has a very friendly pricing model

Any ideas or tips how I can “hide” such API’s behind my Graphcool instance, such that my React components can ask for the weather data directly from Graphcool instead of me having to implement seperate networking logic for weather data? :slightly_smiling_face:

This use case is not quite captured yet by the functions feature, so for now you would indeed need to communicate with the external API directly, <@U58EL92HH>. However, we're looking to apply the concept of the request pipeline to queries as well which would allow you to easily extend your GraphQL schema with external data: <https://github.com/graphcool/feature-requests/issues/40>
