Although, reading the comments/updates, as well as seeing the I/O talk on Fabric/Firebase integration where an audience member asked about this very article, there is a somewhat fair explanation for the spike - but not for the horrendous support. It goes to show that one should ALWAYS have a sound exit strategy when using third party providers for business-critical parts of your product
