Hi not sure if this is the right place to ask about the pact rust standalone verifier. In the organisation I am working for we want to roll out contract testing and one of the things we require is for the providers to be able to filter by the request path. This is because we don't want to run the whole provider service for each contract verification (as it would take too long). I know it's possible to filter by description and tags but we don't want to rely on the consumers to enter the right description to help the provider decide which part of the provider system to run the verification for. It would be nice if we can use the standalone verifier to filter by request path. Is this something that is possible?

I don’t think it’s supported currently. Note that you won’t be able to publish results to the broker this way, because the verification results are all/nothing as far as the broker is concern (i.e. you can’t incrementally publish results)
You could look to add the feature though if that’s what you need

Hi @Matt (pactflow.io / pact-js / pact-go) thanks for the response
Are you saying that if we were to implement the feature to filter out contract by a provider and request path that we won't be able to publish verification results for those specific contracts because we didn't download all the contracts by a particular provider?

Or is it only in the case where you have multiple interactions in a pact between a single consumer-provider?

As soon as you filter, the verification results are invalid (or at the very least, not very useful) because by definition the overall result of the test is "unverified" as some interactions weren't verified. A subsequent verification that includes the previous missing one, but excludes the just validated ones will have the same effect (only different interactions will now be unverified). I.e. you can't incrementally verify a contract
That could potentially be a feature we add support for, but just understand the limitation

That makes sense thanks @Matt (pactflow.io / pact-js / pact-go)
