How can I make a dashboard in OpenObserve be visible to non-users ? Basically a public dashboard. We are using O2 to display prometheus metrics from multiple vLLM instances, I can't realistically create an account for every single user. How can I make a dashboard "public", or "embed" the dashboard to make it accessible by non O2 users.

that is a good question, and we discussed a lot, until now, there is no good solution for it. the major issue is permission check. how to let it only can run the query in the dashboard, nothing else.

@Hengfei Yeah, I remember you saying. The issue on GitHub has been open for several years now https://github.com/openobserve/openobserve/issues/2407
It makes it that I have to fall back to using O2 as just a backend storage, and rely on Grafana as the Front-End.
h
Yeah, i know that.

@Hengfei My solution to this right now was to create a generic user "user@example" with a basic password and just give these credentials to everyone across multiple teams. Hopefully no one deletes the data/dashboards/pipelines/alerts 🙂

i did some research about grafana public dashboard, i got the solution. it use a proxy to do that. all the api request only have dashboardId, pannelId, it never fire a search request with sql. with this it is easy to do. we can only check the dashboard id if it is publiced, then use a internal user to fire the search internally. But our dashboard design as fire the query from frontend. if we want to do it like Grafna, need a big refactor. a lot of work need to do.
