Hi team, I'm running a self-hosted instance of OpenObserve and ran into what seems like a bug with the user invitation flow. When adding new users, the email validation rejects addresses that contain dots (e.g.
<mailto:john.doe@example.com|john.doe@example.com>
). This is a problem because our email provider requires the full address without the dot, it either bounces or routes to the wrong inbox. Happy to share more details if needed. Is this a known issue? Thanks!

Hi @Sivasubramanian R I am unable to reproduce this on v0.90.0-rc3 enterprise, can you please share what version you are running? ENT/OSS? Additionally you are faicing this issue on IAM -> Users -> New User flow or anything else? cc: @Shrinath Rao @Yashodhan

I'm facing this on IAM -> Users -> New User flow.
I'm using opensource edition v0.70.1.
m
Can you elaborate on the issue? Steps to reproduce? Where do you see email validation error
s
Inside IAM, I'm trying to add a new user, In Network tab. The below API is getting called
/api/default/users/{email}
And this is the response I get
Copy code
{
  "code": 400,
  "message": "Invalid email"
}
And It is accepting "john.doe@example.com" But When I try to use my org's email I'm getting the error.
try this email for example. "john.d@openobserve.ai"
d
I have the same problem with one letter after "."
s
I think the issue is with the regex validation. It is enforcing minimum of 2 characters after dot (.) But john.d@example.com is also a perfectly acceptable email Under official internet email standards (RFC 5322)
