The Sep 28–30 commits nearly all answered one question: what should old data and old clients mean once tools is the only tool control? The answer changed several times:
- Old-client compatibility: accept old clients' switches (66f5739), then serialize the switches so SDK 1.49.6 could still read profiles (136e72f), then drop compatibility and reject the switches (8491063), then accept them again as deprecated
input (b3eb043).
- Stored tools: []: narrowed the "means the standard set" rule to the seed profile (48e2e34), then reverted that 20 minutes later (5e05495).
That's churn in deprecation and migration rules, not in what the feature does. The catalog, launch and browser code has barely moved since Sep 29.strong-ice-84145
