my agent identified this as a major cause of my agent-server starting to crawl. Fixing it locally did indeed seem to drastically improve things

This is on a ~2-3 month old installation, so I might be at the frontier of where this problem kicks in

Full disclosure, I don't fully understand the implications of cleaning up the bash history. Maybe someone here knows more?

FWIW my agent looked into this, and its finding matches my recollection. These are not part of the agent - they’re _from canvas_, probing for its terminal view and git. I never realized it’s so much.
