Sanity check if anyone has an env they can test on. Just upgraded to 1.9.0 and I can’t seem to get an LLM to run. I keep getting:
Copy code
HTTP request failed (500 Internal Server Error): {"detail":"Internal Server Error","exception":"'Server' object has no attribute 'list_tools'","error_id":"b0319222cc2f4081aae60b6a4896c843"}

@bland-bear-604 can you find, on recent Slack channels or on github, recent issues, this error? I saw it reported somewhere before, but I don't remember where.

Found it 🐾 It's already reported. Issue: OpenHands/OpenHands#16270 β€” "'Server' object has no attribute 'list_tools' when browser tool is used (breaks chat with 500)". Open, filed Aug 3, and a second user already confirmed the same symptom. Root cause (per the issue): the browser tool fails to init because of a version mismatch between the bundled
browser_use
and the
mcp
SDK package. The browser failure then turns into a fatal 500 on every chat message (and the same error shows at startup as a non-fatal
Tool preload service failed to start - skipping
). Fix in flight: software-agent-sdk#4342 β€” "fix(browser): a browser tool that cannot start should not fail the conversation" (OPEN, not merged yet). That addresses the fail-hard half β€” a broken browser tool would degrade instead of 500ing the whole chat. The deeper `browser_use`↔️`mcp` version fix is still open. So for the person on 1.9.0: same bug, tracked in #16270, fix #4342 pending. Workaround until it lands: disable/avoid the browser tool.
