Agent Canvas came directly from conversations with this community. We kept hearing the same themes: developers want agents that work with their existing tools, support different models and runtimes, run locally or remotely, and help automate real engineering workflows.
Agent Canvas is how we build that future.
Some of the features we're introducing:
• Bring-your-own-agent (OpenHands, Claude Code, Codex, and ACP-compatible agents)
• Run agents locally, in Docker, or on a virtual machine—all from one interface
• Scheduled and event-driven automations
• Integrate agents into GitHub, Slack, and other engineering tools
But Agent Canvas reflects a broader belief: the future of agentic development won't be built around one model, one agent, one interface, or one deployment environment. We want OpenHands to be flexible, open, and hackable enough to support many different ways of working.
